Abstract Submission Guidelines
Abstracts can only be submitted electronically through the 17th Congress of the International Society for Rotary Blood Pumps website at www.isrbp2009.org from1 April 2009, Wednesday. All abstracts must be received by . Abstracts received after this date will not be accepted.
The Organising Committee invites participants to submit abstracts of original, unpublished works for oral and/or poster presentations.
A. GENERAL RULES
1. Types of Presentation
1.1 All authors should be prepared to do an oral or poster presentation. However, if you would like to be excluded from oral presentations, please check the appropriate box in the Abstract Form that can be found on www.isrbp2009.org
1.2 The Scientific Programme Committee of the ISRBP 2009 reserves the right to assign a different presentation format from the one selected by the presenting author.
i) Free Paper Presentation
A selection of abstracts will be accepted for oral presentations during the Free Paper sessions. Presenters will be given 8 minutes to present their research findings and 2 minutes for discussion.
ii) Poster Presentation
Participants are also encouraged to submit their work as a poster presentation that promotes direct exchange of ideas between presenter and delegates. Posters will be set up in a dedicated area.
2. Abstract Receipt Confirmation
2.1 Upon successful submission, authors will receive an automated acknowledgement via email.
2.2 Lack of acknowledgement will indicate that the abstract was not received.
2.3 Abstracts must be received by 15 July 2009, Wednesday.
2.4 Abstracts received after this date will not be accepted.
3. Notification of Acceptance
The Presenting Author of each abstract accepted for publication will be notified by email by 31 August 2009, Monday. If the presenting author is unable to present the abstract, a co-author can take his/her place. The Presenting Author must inform ISRBP 2009 Congress Secretariat of this change in name by 15 September 2009, Tuesday.
4. Withdrawal
Submitted abstracts cannot be withdrawn unless with valid reason(s) approved by the Scientific Committee.
5. Originality of Abstracts
Submitted abstracts must describe unpublished work.
6. Publication
6.1 Abstracts will be published exactly as submitted. Any abstract considered unsuitable for reproduction will not be published. In cases of abstracts with extremely poor English, the Abstract Selection Committee reserves the right to modify the submitted text. The Abstract Selection Committee however will make every effort in these instances not to alter the meaning of the text and will contact the submitting authors prior to publication.
6.2 All abstracts accepted for presentation (either oral or poster) will be published only if payment of registration has been made.
B. HOW TO SENT ABSTRACTS
i) Abstracts can only be submitted via the website. Abstracts sent by post or email will not be accepted. No exceptions will be made.

7. Abstracts (excluding information listed in Point 1 – 6 above) are to be written in English and should be limited to 300 words or less.
8. No image or graphic can be added to the Abstracts
9. Abstracts are to be constructed using the following section headings: PURPOSE, METHOD, RESULT and CONCLUSION
10. Only MS Word Format is acceptable.
11. You may edit your abstract after submission up to the Abstract Submission Deadline on 15 July 2009, Wednesday.
